Simmonds Class (Reception)
Ellie Simmonds OBE
Ellis Simmonds OBE is most recognised for her success at the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games, where - at just 13 years old - she was awarded two Gold medals for the British team for swimming. Learning to swim at age five, Ellie began swimming competitively at age eight, and her disability, classified as Achondroplasia Dwarfism, has not been a barrier to her success. In 2009, Ellie made history as the youngest person to receive an MBE, which was elevated to an OBE in 2013 for her services to Paralympic sport.
